By which I mean you can fake having a large gauge or stretched piercing. Not that the jewellery is fake or that it gives you the look of piercing with a hole! Or is that just too much information!
No pain, all gain! Get the look of large gauge piercings without the waiting, just fake it!
Fake body piercing jewellery is ideal if you want the look of a large gauge piercing but don’t have the time and patience needed to stretch up, or just don’t fancy stretching at all.
Try a fake expander (straight or banana) in organic wood, bone, horn, steel or acrylic. The marble fake expanders are a firm favourite!

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a remarkable non-stick material, also known as Teflon. One of the first commercial uses for PTFE was in the coating of frying pans and is still used today helping your omelette glide effortlessly from pan to plate – yum! PTFE was even used on the Millennium Dome in London where the canopy is made of PTFE coated glass fibre fabric to help make it more durable and suitable for the British weather. 
But what’s that got to do with body jewellery? Well it’s great for body jewellery as it’s extremely flexible, non-stick and biocompatible.
Body jewellery made from PTFE causes less friction in your piercing and helps to reduce lymph build up, the white liquid that sometimes appears around your piercing during healing. PTFE body jewellery can also help speed up the healing process.
PTFE body jewellery is also very flexible and this means that it causes less stress on your piercings. This is particularly useful for new piercings like scaffolds as non-flexible barbells like titanium and steel can put pressure on your piercings which is not only uncomfortable, it can also take longer to heal.
Sometimes no matter how well you care for your piercing, it can become infected. If you have a troublesome piercing PTFE body jewellery is one of the best materials to wear in it whilst it heals.
Replacing your body jewellery with PTFE barbells or circular barbells, which are friction free, will help speed up the healing process so you can get back to wearing the jewellery you really want to! If you want to keep your piercing during pregnancy PTFE belly bars are ideal as they are so flexible they will change to the shape of your piercing as your bump grows, which makes them very comfortable to wear. PTFE pregnancy jewellery is also safe to wear during your ultrasound scan, just screw off the ends and you can leave the bar in place, so it’s safe for you and your baby.

If you’re wondering why Sterling Silver only has 92.5% pure silver in it, hence the name Sterling ’925′, that’s because pure (99.9%) silver would be too soft to make jewellery. The other 7.5% is usually copper as this gives the silver the strength and durability required for jewellery and other applications.
Everyone loves a little sparkle and these shimmering crystal studs are just perfect. Choose from round or square crystals in 10 sizes and 9 colours, including crystal clear, black diamond, purple and turquoise to name but a few.

Eyebrow piercings have become particularly fashionable recently with the movie release of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, whose main character sports several facial piercings.
An eyebrow piercing is a surface piercing from the bottom to top of the eyebrow in a vertical position. This piercing can be placed anywhere along the eyebrow but is most popular on the outside of the eyebrow. Placing this piercing closer towards the nose is less desirable due to the possibility of permanent nerve damage.
The most popular eyebrow piercing jewellery is the barbell, straight or bent, and also the BCR ring. There are many different styles to choose from with stars and hearts, to stripes, glitzy, neon, UV and jewelled.
Anti-eyebrow piercing, also known as crow’s feet, upper cheek, teardrop and butterfly kiss, is also a surface piercing and generally situated above the cheek bone or under the eye. 
This can be placed in a vertical or horizontal manner, or anything in between.
Barbells are often used for anti-eyebrow piercing jewellery and come in various lengths from 6mm – 50mm with a choice of materials in titanium, steel, PVD Black and Gold, Bioplast and Gold Plate.

Surface eyebrow piercings are prone to rejection and can often cause bruising when first pierced, sometimes even a black eye depending on the exact placement. These piercings take 6 – 8 weeks to heal and it can be up to 6 months before you can leave your jewellery out for any length of time. As with all piercings it is essential to care for your new piercing to avoid infection.

To prolong the life of your organic body jewellery, clean with mild soap and water and dry immediately, then oil with jojoba or grape seed oil on a monthly basis. It is advised to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, extreme heat or cold and sleeping or bathing with your jewellery in as this may cause it to crack or warp.
All organic jewellery is porous and should be worn in healed piercing only.
Organic body jewellery should not be exposed to any extreme temperatures and therefore should not be autoclaved or heat sterilised.

It’s been around for ages, well since ancient times, with both the Aztec and Maya people carrying out tongue piercing during religious ceremonies.
The most popular tongue piercing is a single piercing though the middle of the tongue. Alternatively two horizontal piercings on either side of the tongue is known as a venom bite.
The same piercings in a vertical manner are sometimes referred to as an angel bite (although this term is more commonly used for a double madonna lip piercing).
When you first get your tongue pierced you will be given a much longer length bar than you might expect, this is to compensate for the swelling of your tongue in the first few days.
The swelling can last up to 4 weeks but will subside, at which point your piercer will replace your barbell with a shorter length. Of course, if you are at all worried about your new piercing you should contact your piercer as soon as you can.
